Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 500g plain flour
- 400ml buttermilk
- 2 tbsp whole milk
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 200˚C. Mix all your dry ingredients together in a bowl. Then add in your buttermilk and a little milk.
- Mix to form a sticky dough then turn out onto a floured surface and lightly knead.
- Roll into a flattened ball of dough. Score the surface of the bread with a cross that cuts halfway through the bread. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 mins or cook on preheated flat griddle turning every 10 mins until evenly cooked throughout.
- Serve the soda bread warm with cold butter and a full English Breakfast!
